One monitored address, and a set of controls on screen that are faster than any of them during a call. Below is which to use when, and what to include so a report can actually be acted on.

If it is happening right now

Do not email us mid-call. The controls on screen are faster and they are what moderation actually reads:

Leave
One tap. No confirmation, no reason required, and no notice sent to the other person. Do this first.
Report
Visible during the call rather than buried in a settings menu. This is what reaches moderation.
Block
Stops that person being matched with you again.

If someone is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services. We are not a substitute for them and cannot act at that speed.

Everything else

One address, monitored by a person: [email protected]. There is no ticket system to navigate and no phone line — we would rather have one address that works than three that do not.

Write in whatever language you are comfortable in. Reports and questions both go to the same place.

What to include

Reports get acted on faster when they contain enough to find what happened:

  • Roughly when it happened, including your timezone. There are no usernames on an anonymous call, so time is often the only way to locate it.
  • What happened, in plain terms. A sentence is enough.
  • Whether you already used the in-call report — if you did, say so, and we can connect the two.
  • Anything about the other person that was visible on screen, if you remember it.

You do not need to send screenshots or recordings, and you should not go out of your way to make them. Sharing a recording of someone is itself against the community guidelines.

Data requests

To ask what personal information is held about you, to have it corrected, or to have it deleted, use the same address and say what you are asking for.

Two things to expect. We may need to verify the request is really coming from you before acting on it — that verification protects you. And if you only ever used the site anonymously, there may be no record tied to you to find, which is the intended outcome rather than an evasion. The privacy policy sets out the full list of rights.

What you will not find here

No phone number, no postal address, no live chat widget, and no promised response time. We do not publish those because we would not be able to stand behind them, and a support page that lists channels nobody staffs is worse than one that lists a single channel that works.

Nobody from Umengle will ever ask you for a password, a payment detail or a verification code — by email or during a call. Any message that does is not from us.
